Sydney Ports disappointed with Port Botany stevedores

SYDNEY Ports says it will speak to the government about using regulations for the Port Botany landside reforms if stevedores do not improve performance.

According to Sydney Ports, recent delays at Port Botany terminals mean truck drivers are queuing up to four hours each trip.

Sydney Ports claims it supports a transition towards 24/7 operations but stevedores have decided on changes without speaking to anyone in the industry.

It says stevedores have not provided reliable service and timely notice of delays and have failed to implement new reforms for better performance at Port Botany.
