Boskalis Australia to construct port for Gorgon LNG project

BOSKALIS Australia has been commissioned to construct a port for the Gorgon Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) project off the coast of Western Australia.

According to Boskalis Australia, the contract value is about $8m and was awarded by Chevron Australia in cooperation with Kellogg Joint Venture.

Boskalis says the Gorgon LNG project includes the design and construction of a port including a material offloading facility at Barrow Island and dredging and marine contracting activities.

The company has also been assigned logistical and program management responsibilities for part of the basic infrastructure.

The Gorgon LNG project is set to commence early 2010 and is due to be completed by the end of 2011.
